Clancy Edwards is known as the "good-girl". With an overprotective father and a mother who died and a skydiving accident, Clancy is ready to do something to break free from her dad's rules and her boyfriend's protectiveness. She finally gets her chance when she meets Denny, a new skydiving student at the drop zone where she works with her dad in the summers. Freefall Summer is one of the best books I have read because I could see everything taking place as if it was happening in front of me. This book was fast paced and full of challenges that Clancy must learn how to handle. I recommend this book to older teens who enjoy adventure and a little bit of a love story.

Frances George Warren (everyone calls here George) wishes she could rewrite her senior year often telling herself that "life is a bad writer". Before the school year started she was excited for this big year in her life until she gets in a fight with her best friend and starts falling for an older guy. Trouble comes when she realizes that Francis (the older guy who is sometimes called Mick) is taking her dad's job while recovering from an injury. Just when she thinks she has everything figured out, life seems to fall apart right in front of her. She learns to face many new challenges and how to deal with incredible loss. I recommend this book to mature teens and young adults looking for a hopeful love story.

Everything about this book kept me wanting to read more and turn the next page. Leigh, the main characters, lost her mom to suicide and she is sure that when her mom died she turned into a bird. This belief leads her to questioning her father about her grandparents. Leigh has many decisions she has to make when she discovers some old family secrets. On top of all this, she must figure out what is happening with her friend Axel, best friend and secret crush. This book expresses love, grief, loss, family, and hope in a beautiful way. This was a wonderful read and many teens and young adults would find comfort in Leigh's story.
